Steps 20141230

This is today's achievement.
I think it's time for me to report on my yoga progress soon.....I have not been practicing much and I feel this hopeless feeling. I think yoga does something to our moods when we make the effort to practice it....more to be added later....

Steps 20141229

This is definitely my record highest for the year so far. I had gone to explore Sentosa island today. Oh wait a minute....it's actually my second highest in the year. I had a similar record when I was shopping for my laptops few months back.

Steps 20140707

Here's an update of my steps taken so far since I got this pedometer. I know now that I do walk at least a minimum of 5000 to 6000 steps when I only go to work and home. That's ok because it's the average steps for women so I'm good here.

And now here are my best records for the past 7 days. I did manage to hit above 10,000 steps twice. And I have 9000+ steps on Some days too. See below.

At least now I know I am doing some cardo in my daily life....hooray!

Steps 20140626

Today I clocked more steps than yesterday.
No of steps: 7400
Distance :5.1 km. (wow and i didn't have to go the stadium)
Calories burnt: 100kcal
Weight: 5.4g

Amazing! It goes to show that long meetings are unhealthy. At least for me. I walked lesser the day before because I was stuck in a meeting for half a day. Today's meeting was only 2 hours long. Working in an office where the printer, pantry, mail room, rest rooms and other common facilities are either far away or oriented like a maze where you have to walk around cubicles and boxes/things to get to another place can be good for increasing the number of steps taken. It takes 1500 steps to get from home to the office. I reached 4000+ by the time lunch was over.  Let's see what I get tomorrow. I have no meetings tomorrow. I hope there are no urgent ones.

Steps 20140625

Today I got to use my pedometer before I left for work till I came home. And here's what I got.
Total steps: 5879
Distance: 4.1 km
Calories :82 kcal
Fat burnt  :4.5g
I'm not into loosing weight but I want to know if I am walking enough. When I goggled and I learnt that I fall into the average number of steps for women generally. I am mildly active. Well, the first half of the day I was stuck in a meeting so I couldn't move so much. I did more walking after lunch to walk to and  from the printer and to pick up documents. Tomorrow morning I have another meeting which I hope will end earlier. I want to see if meetings affect my number of steps or will I stay glued to my desk outside a meeting.

It was fun watching my steps. I realize it's about 40 to 50 steps to the printer. It takes about 1000 steps to walk from home to the subway and to the office. The rest of the day is spent within the office building. Nice discovery. I shall see what I get tomorrow.

My New Pedometer

So here it is. I finally bought that pedometer. I couldn't wait to test it but I'm too tired to leave the house now. So far I've just been moving around the bedroom and I've covered 264 steps at 0.1km. This is fun! I can't wait to bring this out with me when I go to work tomorrow. I wonder how many steps I will take to walk to the subway and then to the office and then during office hours and back home. Do I have enough steps? I doubt it will hit 10,000 but I think I do walk quite a lot as the printer is I far from my desk.....till the next update.

Counting my steps

I've decided that I will get a pocket pedometer to track how many steps I walk per day. I'm curious about the distance I walk and whether I'm In the healthy range. Am I getting enough cardio? Or know I'm lazy to go for a jog so is walking enough for me? I am too cheap to get a jawbone up or fitbit for now. Let me try a basic pedometer first and see how it goes. I plan to update my progress here.

The Alternate Nostril Breathing For Relaxation

I love this yoga breathing technique. It is good insomnia, relaxation, constipation and stress relieve. Do it slowly. Make breathe for 10 or 20 counts and breathe out for another 10 or 20 counts again. I even find my voice sounding a lot better after that.
